It can be difficult for most athletes to find something that they unanimously agree upon for improving performance. The needs of individual athletes and the demands of their sports are unique. A powerlifter singularly-focused on their 1 RM squat will train differently than a CrossFitter looking to improve their WOD performance. And the grappler who has been preparing for an important jiu-jitsu tournament will have a distinct training routine than the powerlifter and the Cross Fitter. Ultimately, the end goal all these athletes have is increased performance and recovery. While there are different ways to get to their goals, all athletes rely on their energy systems to fuel their activity. Some sports depend more on fats as a fuel source while others use carbs. When XTEND® Elite was developed, the goal in mind was to support elite recovery and muscular endurance for all types of athletes*.

In this article we’ll examine 3 key ingredients in the XTEND® Elite formula: PeakO2®, CarnoSyn® Beta Alanine, and Citrulline Nitrate (N03-T®), to see why so many athletes are blown away by their effects.

PeakO2®: The Power of Adaptogens

PeakO2® is a trademarked blend of six mushroom varieties. From research on PeakO2, we know that its beneficial effects start to take place once you’ve saturated your body with this ingredient.

A study examined the effects of daily PeakO2 supplementation on various exercise performance measurements. The researchers noted that PeakO2 had beneficial effects on aerobic and anaerobic performance in the form of improved VO2 max, time to fatigue, and anaerobic peak power output*.[1]

A separate study examined the acute and chronic effects of daily PeakO2 supplementation on exercise performance. The researchers saw increased VO2 max performance in the chronic supplementation group*.[2]

A third study investigated the effects of lower-dosed PeakO2 supplementation over a 28-day period in healthy subjects. The scientists saw increased VO2 peak and time to fatigue in the group that supplemented with PeakO2*.[3]

The mechanisms through which PeakO2 is proposed to support exercise performance is through improved oxygen utilization, buffering of lactic acid, and blood flow*.[3] Essentially it helps your body utilize oxygen more efficiently. Athletes looking to improve their power and endurance will benefit from PeakO2 since the aerobic base serves as the foundation which other aspects of athleticism are built upon*.

CarnoSyn ® Beta-Alanine Boost

CarnoSyn® Beta-alanine is an amino acid that combines with histidine, another amino acid, to form the dipeptide carnosine. Dipeptides are compounds consisting of two amino acids. Carnosine is found abundantly in the skeletal muscles and one of its main functions is buffering pH levels.

During exercise, hydrogen ions accumulate lowering the pH of the environment, ultimately causing muscles to fatigue. If you’ve ever experienced a burning sensation while doing lots of reps that caused you to stop, it was likely from a drop in pH.

Scientific literature reviews and meta-analysis studies have found that daily supplementation with 4-6 g. of beta-alanine for at least 2-4 weeks has been shown to improve exercise performance with more pronounced effects in open end-point tasks/time trials lasting 1-4 minutes in duration. *[4,5,6,7]

NO Super Charger Nitramax Citrulline Nitrate N03-T®

NO3-T® Citrulline Nitrate is an ingredient exclusive to us, that activates two pathways of nitric oxide support. Nitrate supplementation has been shown to help support aerobic capacity for submaximal and high-intensity exercise, while citrulline has shown possible beneficial effects on high intensity strength and power performance.[8,9]

How To Use XTEND® Elite?

XTEND® Elite supports performance and recovery so it can be taken before, during, or after a workout*. XTEND® Elite is a non-stimulant formula meaning it doesn’t have caffeine or other stimulants that may keep you up at night. This makes it perfect for early morning or late-night workouts. Because ingredients in this formula like PeakO2® and CarnoSyn® beta-alanine depend on muscle saturation to be effective, we suggest you use it on training days and non-training days to get the best results. You can take 1 scoop of XTEND® Elite daily or if you want faster results, start out with 2 scoops daily for a month and then switch to 1 scoop once you’ve saturated your muscles.

Summary

Hard training athletes know they need the best fuel to support their performance and recovery. XTEND® Elite was developed to support endurance, power output, and muscle recovery so all types of athletes can benefit*. Start taking 1 scoop a day of XTEND® Elite on training and non-training days to power up your performance*.
