Guitarist, producer, and artist Dru "Falconcry" DeCaro is one in a million. We had the chance to connect with Falconcry to talk about fitness, the day-in-a-life of a musician, and how he uses C4® Energy in his daily routine for energy and performance.
The first tour I ever went on, I was told by another badass guitarist the following: “It’s either zero fast food or always fast food, those are the choices.” After many years on the road I can tell you he is 100% right, and I haven’t eaten fast food for about 10 years. Since then, we dialed in some other fitness things, but it started with hitting the road and having some guidelines from people I looked up to and trusted.
Mortality? Fear of being forgotten? Haha, lots of weird, unnecessary emotion I’m sure. I suppose I love to work, and I love being able to see progress. Really, it’s a drug when you get around to it, being good at things and getting better at them. I like having standards, expectations and big ideas.
I am fortunate that I love what I do, and I have a great family and circle around me. Just making them proud and having my mom not worry about me is a wildly motivating force.
I always work out first thing in the morning. If I don’t get it in the 1st three hours of the day, I’m thrown. I’m usually intermittent fasting, so I workout and then make a smoothie with Cellucor® COR-Performance Whey Protein & whatever other little C4® Energy tricks I have around.
I remember the first time I got in the gym, I had broken up with my first love and ran to my tallest strongest friends, hoping for an ego boost. They would eat only peanut butter and drink C4® Energy. I learned how to do negative presses and how cables were better than dumbbells, etc. It didn’t fix my heart, but it helped.
You have no idea how much C4® Energy we have on deck at the studio. It literally keeps the lights on. People in the studio always want to try what I’m drinking and they have no idea they are in for, haha!
