Five years ago I started my fitness journey without knowing I’d even stick with it. I was 320+ lbs, lost and in a dark place. I’m now down 145lbs naturally through nutrition and powerlifting/fitness on my own with no nutritionists or trainers. In that time, I’ve held records and become nationally ranked in powerlifting, all while continuing my goals of strength and weight loss.
My goal WAS to be skinny to have guys like me. Now I just want to be strong and love myself. I want to spread the message that strength is never a weakness, especially to women!
The mantra that kept you going?
Don’t base anything on motivation, because motivation dies. That’s when discipline kicks in.
Where are you in your journey currently?
I’m currently in the best shape of my life. I’ve overcome knee surgeries, injuries, 3 herniated discs and a torn hip flexor. After the back injury, I was told I’d never deadlift again & I came back with my all-time best of 400 at an all-time low body weight in a charity meet. I’m far from done, but I’m trying to be the best version of me possible and the best all-around athlete.
One piece of advice for others with the same goal?
Do things on your terms and time, not anyone else’s. And always be your own strongest vertebrae. Nobody else owes you anything, work hard and you’ll reap the benefits and results.
Any Cellucor products that helped you through your journey?
What's your favorite workout?
My favorite workout is definitely squats and leg accessories. Quads have always been my thing, so I love working them!
